Beccles is readying itself for the 13th annual sponsored cycle for life event
On Sunday 11th May, the sponsored cycle event will be a great chance to get out in the sunshine, see some beautiful countryside and raise some money for a good cause.
Riders are already entering the thirteenth annual Beccles Cycle for Life sponsored cycle ride on Sunday May 11th, organised by the Rotary Club of Beccles.
Posters will soon be appearing over town and the campaign to sign up riders has already begun, with the option for advanced entries already available.
Those who enter in advance receive a full rider pack by email or post which includes the sponsor form and route details and the advance entries cost less.
The entries made on-line through the website mentioned below are handled by Charity Giving and riders can have their own sponsorship page.
Last year a record sum of £8000 was raised and divided equally between East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Rotary Club of Beccles Charitable Trust. The same charities will benefit this year.
The charity ride draws in participants of all kinds, including many families also who enjoy getting out into the country lanes for an exciting expedition, enthusiastic club riders and also team riders from workplaces and organisations.
It is not a race and all the riders go at their own pace, so is suitable for everyone who can ride.
Riders choose between 7, 15, 25, 40 or 50 miles and one of the sponsored riders will win a bicycle worth £300 provided again by Norfolk & Suffolk chartered financial services with help from the Life Cycles shop in Lowestoft. A draw for this will take place at the Beccles Hospital Fete in June.
