Sir David Frost Remembered with Commemorative Plaque

A commemoration service is to be held in Beccles to celebrate the life of veteran Broadcaster Sir David Frost, and will include the installation of a special plaque.

Councillor Chris Scott has raised ideas for the town to do something to commemorate Mr. Frost. He suggested a special memorial service at Hungate United Reform Church or the installation of a plaque outside of the Beccles town hall, both of which received support from other members of the council.

Sir David Frost died in 2013 after a heart attack, and could often be found in Beccles, having spent much of his childhood there after moving to Beccles from Northamptonshire in 1958 so that his father, the Reverend W.J. Paradine Frost, could serve as a Methodist Minister for Beccles and the surrounding towns. Though the memorial plans are only in their early stages at the moment, Councillor Scott said they could reach fruition in Febraury or March of next year.
